Welcome to Jive-talk.com – Imprint

Welcome!

This site too is dedicated to the research, study and thrills of the artists generally known as the “jazz musicians” and the literature that evolved around them.
The contents and suggestions of the website are the result of a Ph. D. thesis research that led to the publication of the book Jazz und seine Musiker im Roman: Vernacular and Sophisticated. (Jazz and its Musicians in the Novel).
The information presented here focuses on a variety of aspects related to jazz, jazz fiction and African-American culture. This necessarily includes scholarly research, lists of fiction dealing with jazz and its musicians, tales, mythology, facts and again fiction that is known as “jazz lore,” a selection of suggested readings concerning jazz evolution, jazz in the movies and an abstract  from my own study of the portrait of the jazz musician in selected  novels. Additional information will be added.

All texts, interviews, reviews etc. on this site are the sole property of the author, Dr. Alexander Ebert. External content will be marked and identified as such.

Enjoy what you find here!
